The Riga Municipality Agency “Rīgas pilsētas arhitekta birojs” (hereinafter – the Agency) is the municipal institution established by Riga City Council, which goal is to facilitate improvement of the municipality operation in solving the construction quality supervision and control issues in the field of improvement and development of the territory planning, the detailed planning and the housing regulations, as well as evaluation of the construction projects.
The Agency has the following functions:
- To facilitate qualitative improvement of the Riga urban environment and architecture of separate structures in Riga;
- To prepare and submit proposals to Riga City Council on elaboration and amendments to the Riga Territory Plan, the detailed planning and the housing regulations;
- To prepare and submit proposals to Riga City Council on solving the construction development, supervision and control issues;
- To evaluate quality of architecture of new construction projects and their conformity to requirements of laws and regulations.
