The Office on Rent Issues of the Riga City is set up for the term of office of the Riga City Council, and is supervised by the RCC Municipal Services and Housing Committee.
The Office on Rent Issues examines disputes regarding renting, maintenance and management of residential premises among house owners (tenants, possessors, managers), tenants of apartments (owners), tenants of untenanted premises of residential buildings (owners) and providers of municipal services, as well as performs other functions assigned to it by the binding regulations of the Riga City Council and by the present regulation.
The main duties of the Office on Rent Issues is to provide, within its competence, free consultations and recommendations to house owners (tenants, possessors, managers), tenants of apartments (owners), tenants of untenanted premises of residential buildings (owners) and providers of municipal services.
