The main functions of the Riga City Council Personnel Division are:

• execution of employment and dismissal of employees;
  organization of training and courses;
• participation in the competition procedure for vacant positions arranged by the Riga City Council;
• preparation of regulations and draft resolutions on personnel related issues;
• providing of consultations and clarifications to the employees, administration and the staff of the Riga City Council structural units on the labour legislation issues;
• participation in elaboration of the Kadri personnel accounting system and its introduction at all structural units of the Riga City Council, preparation of the lists of state officials, preparation of the Riga City Council Diplomas and solution of other personnel related issues.
